Coaching With Mike

Let’s elevate your self-tape game!

I’ve made the mistakes so you don’t have to.

Over the past decade in Chicago's vibrant film scene, I've honed my skills and faced various challenges, which taught me a lot about resilience and adaptability. With self-tapes being the norm, I've nailed the art of creating captivating auditions, focusing on both the technical and creative sides. Some of my recent credits include - Brandon Daley’s feature directorial debut $POSTIONS, Joe Swanberg-produced horror anthology film Yellow Eyes, an Appearance on Chicago P.D., and a commercial for First Finacial Bank.

I'm excited to share what I've learned with you, whether you're just starting or want to up your auditioning game. Let’s dive into the details of self-taping together to help you shine in front of casting directors. Ready to elevate your audition skills?

What you get.

  • I offer In-depth coaching during the self-tape session to help you nail the part in order for you to stand out amongst your peers.

I can also offer my coaching to help you with your career, whether that be help getting agents, coaching for a role you got, producing films or just simple guidance - I can help you reach your goals.

  • The tape! Looks aren't everything but it helps put you ahead of the bunch! I have a studio located in Rogers Park, I use a HD full frame camera, with professional quality lighting and sound.

  • Once we're finished with the tape, we will pick the best take and I'll edit it beside you. We can send it right in the studio or I can send you a compressed copy of the tape.

  • $35/30 min

    $60/Hour

This goes for both Self-tape coaching and just any coaching in general.

Payment - Venmo, Zelle or cash.

    What I ask from you:

Send me your sides - Knowing what you're auditioning for helps me help you get the correct tone but on a practical point it helps me set up the space - Is it a commercial or a dark drama, does the scene have you seated or standing. I will adjust the lighting and set up to conform to you audition.

Be prepared - This is important, we can't deliver a great tape if you are not memorized. In the great words of my teacher Kevin Long "You can't act if you have to think about the lines"

  • I'm located at 1245 W Chase ave, Chicago IL, 60626

There is free parking on Chase Ave and Sheridan (but Sheridan does ticket from 4pm-6pm). One block north is a parking garage and One block south if a parking lot (Both are paid)

I am on the beach , so try to arrive early and take in the beautiful lake as inspiration! (also arrive early to find parking and get situated but I prefer the inspiring lake option.)

When you book a time I'll also send you more details about parking to help you navigate the area better!

Don’t take my word for it…

"Michael Kunicki is not only a versatile, extremely talented actor, but someone who can effectively critique the craft in thoughtful, articulate, and refreshing ways. The fact that he's both a director and an actor means that he can provide a sharp perspective---one that truly encompasses "the big picture."“

Randy Bernales

"Michael Kunicki is an acting force to be reckoned with. His ability to deliver raw, powerful, yet nuanced performances is truly masterful. He's an actor at the absolute pinnacle of his game."

“It has been my absolute pleasure to have worked with Michael over the years as a coach, teacher and director to him. I have watched Michael grow into the fully fledged, multi faceted artist that he is today. Seeing him book several complex lead film roles over the years has been a joy for me. I believe his proven track record of booking work, along with his compassion, discipline and artistry, make him a perfect candidate to help any actor who’s looking to raise their on-camera game.”

Brandon Daley

"Mike is a rare talent. I originally found him through a self-tape he made for a supporting role in my debut narrative feature. I was so impressed by his performance that I asked him to read for the lead, which he nailed. Through that self-tape, I decided to cast Mike as my main protagonist, and he did not disappoint. As a writer-first director, it was great to work with an actor that took such care of the script. He is so talented at breaking down every page to the last detail, arriving on set with a deep understanding for the motivation of every line. We were extremely blessed to have him, and I look forward to working with him again in the future."

Let’s get to work!
